Design crush. Sarah Richardson

Sarah Richardson is one of those designers that you love from the moment you see her.  For me, it was design love at first sight.  She always manages to surprise me with something new in each room she designs, and I love how she is unafraid to use color and pattern in some very unconventional ways.  She creates spaces that are timeless and classic, bold, and fresh.  That is why I love Sarah.

bright and bold.  love the elegant upholstered headboard, and the darling dress used as a form of art.

the lounge is truly a mix of old and new.
you can't get any bolder than red.
This industrial cabinet is divine.  Sarah brightens it up with bold accents of yellow.
Bring in the drama. That Floor to ceiling beveled mirror is gorgeous, and the high back ikat upholstered chairs are to die for!

I would love this banquette in my home.  It's fresh, clean, and classic.  Two of which do not go well with three little boys.
This bathroom is so crisp and bright with penny marble tile, a white vanity, and a bold, modern vanity mirror.

I generally shy away from pattern in large doses, but I have to admit, I love this David Hicks wallpaper.  It fits well with the neutral furnishings, and definitely makes a bold statement.
This is one of my all time favorites.  I am a HUGE fan of stripes, and I love how she incorporated both a horizontal and a vertical stripe in this neutral room.
This is a nursery from her Sarah 101 show on HGTV.  I love the mix of pattern, and the bold orange in this room.

This room is very eclectic.  There is definitely some bold color and pattern in here from the Chiang Mai Dragon head and foot boards, to the blue accent wall, and it all works very well together.
I love the Celerie Kemble conumdrum upholstered wing back chair in this room.  I want it.
Greek key inlay pattern adds detail and interest in the flooring.
I love the use of vintage furniture, and giving it an updated look through paint and upholstery.

This children's room has pattern and whimsy.
Sarah's city condo.  It's graphic and chic.
These lucite chairs don't obstruct the view of the patterned table, or the Graham & Brown wallpaper.

I absolutely love these dining room slipper chairs upholstered in waverly lattice.
This bathroom is so beautiful with the deep soaking tub and vintage faucet, the frameless glass shower, and mosaic tile.
I love how the bleached wood in this children's loft allows the contents to really be on display.

This is bench is from Sarah's furniture line.  I love the clean lines and danish modern style legs.  It's a perfect place to sit and take off your shoes.

I love the layout in this room.  It truly is a relaxing conversation area.
Yellow brings happiness.
A truly spa-like bathroom.  Love the tile stripe detail in the shower.

I love the colors in this nursery, and the inexpensive ikea fabric curtains tie everything together.

A girly girl's room.  That fabulous playful wallpaper is from Thibuat.

The High Low Project

Got any plans Saturday night?  If not, I highly recommend checking out Sabrina Soto's High/Low Project on HGTV.  Sabrina gives her clients a dream big designer look, and then recreates that high end look for A LOT less.  I have to admit, I'm totally hooked.

The high end with original artwork and Louis style high back nailhead chairs
The Low with a print version of the artwork, West Elm rug and chandelier

Now that's cutting the cost!
The tablescape low version.
Sabrina recreated the this entire vignette for a fraction of the high end version.
I've always loved this West Elm chandelier

With a little imagination and some elbow grease, you can recreate just about anything.
Succulents in cloches add an earthy and lively accent to the table.
And, she even came in under budget!
The high version
I love the tufted rolled arm English style sofa
And these slipper chairs are my fave with the Robert Allen upholstery
This pair of tufted armchairs are tailored and classic.
Sabrina's client said the turquoise carpet in the high look was a bit too bright, so in the low look, she went with a more neutral  carpet instead.
